Implementation of traffic calming measures

Loures City Council announced the implementation of traffic calming measures on Rua Marechal António Spínola and Estrada Militar, within the Terraços da Ponte neighbourhood in Sacavém. According to the municipality, the main goal of this intervention is to reduce vehicle speeds and improve safety and mobility conditions for pedestrians and local residents.

The works were scheduled to begin on 2 December, with an estimated duration of ten weeks, including several interventions designed to promote safer and more organised traffic circulation throughout the neighbourhood.

This has been a long-awaited intervention by the community due to ongoing concerns regarding speeding, road safety and pedestrian circulation on the main roads within the area.
