8 activeMaintenance required for the neighbourhood palm trees
The palm trees within the neighbourhood are currently in need of maintenance and cleaning, with old and dry foliage accumulating and frequently falling onto vehicles, pavements and residents’ balconies. In addition to the visual impact and build-up of debris in surrounding areas, this situation may also contribute to the presence and attraction of unwanted insects, affecting the comfort and overall quality of both public and private spaces within the neighbourhood. The community believes it is important for regular pruning and maintenance works to be carried out, helping to improve cleanliness, safety and the preservation of shared spaces.
Public lighting issues
Rua Domingos Leite Pereira is currently facing several public lighting issues, with at least three street lighting poles reported as faulty at the beginning of the road. This situation has been affecting visibility and safety conditions during the night for residents, pedestrians and vehicle circulation. The lack of proper lighting may contribute to an increased feeling of insecurity, make pedestrian circulation more difficult and reduce overall comfort and safety within the public space. The community believes it is important for repair works to be carried out in order to restore proper street lighting conditions in this area of the neighbourhood.
Damaged street lighting pole requires repair
A tilted and apparently damaged public lighting pole has been identified within the neighbourhood, potentially representing a safety risk for residents and pedestrians in the surrounding area. In addition to concerns regarding the stability of the structure, this type of issue may also affect proper lighting conditions and contribute to the degradation of the public space. The community believes it is important for a technical assessment and the necessary repair works to be carried out in order to ensure safer conditions and proper functionality of the public infrastructure.
Abandoned tyres near the Community Cultural Centre
Several abandoned tyres have been identified near the Community Cultural Centre, creating an accumulation of waste within a public area of the neighbourhood. In addition to the negative visual impact, this type of improper disposal may contribute to environmental concerns, increased dirt and the degradation of the surrounding public space. The community believes it is important for this area to be cleaned and for the tyres to be properly removed, helping to improve hygiene, safety and the preservation of public spaces for all residents.
Need for maintenance and repairs in children’s playgrounds
The neighbourhood playgrounds are currently showing several signs of wear and lack of maintenance, including damaged equipment, cracked wooden structures and multiple elements requiring repair or replacement. In addition to affecting the daily use of these spaces by families and children, the deterioration of the equipment may also represent safety risks and reduce the quality of the leisure areas available within the neighbourhood. The community believes it is important for regular maintenance works, equipment repairs and overall improvements to be carried out in order to ensure safer, more functional and suitable playgrounds for children and their families.

Although IRA - Intervenção e Resgate Animal carries out important animal protection work, the organisation receives a very high number of requests and may not always be able to respond immediately, with priority given to the most serious situations. For this reason, the first contact should always be made with the official animal and environmental protection authorities.
